I’ve started playing No Man’s Sky again and it’s feeling pretty good. This has been on my back burner for a long while now but when I noticed some friends playing it, I thought, hey. I’ll jump in too.

I played this a lot at launch on PS4 and walked away, but not because I didn’t like the game. I just drifted to something else. I think I burned myself out on it too quick. But that was way back before they started releasing the content that started turning the game into what they actually wanted to have at launch.
It’s still a little buggy, sure. But it’s so beautiful and now I can run around with my friends. We’re seeing some hiccups in teleportation stuff… but I’m not sure if it’s actually an issue or we just don’t really understand how it’s supposed to work. For instance, I can never seem to teleport to a group/friends base because it never downloads. But whatever. We’re still having fun and, to be honest, I’m playing more solo than multiplayer with schedules being what they are.

I’m starting this log not super deep into the game (10 hours) but also not at the very beginning. I have a little over 10 hours into my save so I’ve established a meager base, I’ve managed to acquire a hauler, which I’ve already scrapped and a shuttle along with my starter, and I’ve bought a bigger mining tool.

All my stuff is still Grade C except for the shuttle which I’ve named Shuttle Tydirium.

I think my next step is to try and get one of those free freighters. Or maybe a bunch of money. Or maybe rebuild a better home base and start expanding out. Or maybe repair all the damage to Shuttle Tydirum
One thing is for sure… the animals in this game are still fucking weird as hell and I’m here for it.

And I let my friends in Discord name it:
